Kurdistan’s natural beauty extends beyond its stunning landscapes to include rich biodiversity. The region is home to several protected areas and wildlife sanctuaries, such as Marivan’s Oak Forest Park and the Khaled Nabi Sanctuary, which house diverse flora and fauna.

Kurdistan also offers culinary delights found nowhere else. The traditional Kurdish Dolma, prepared with grape leaves, is a delight for the senses. Baklava and Nane Sheereh, sweet pastries, add to the exquisite cuisine.

The province’s cultural scene is further enriched by its traditional music and dance, epitomized by the energetic Kurdish dance, known as Halperke, accompanied by rhythmic beats centred around the Daf, a traditional Kurdish percussion instrument.

In terms of handicrafts, the province is renowned for its Klash footwear, handwoven using natural materials and traditional techniques. Additionally, the art of Giveh weaving, traditional and functional footwear, and delicate handicrafts like wood carving are appreciated and widely purchased by tourists.

Moreover, the delightful hospitality of its people is at the very heart of a visitor’s experience here. A blend of their rich traditions, unique cuisine, musical expressions, handicrafts, and magnificent natural scenery makes Kurdistan a destination truly worth exploring.
